recourses
are our most valuable commodity! |
At present we have more than
50 Cadets on board. All
have undergone a pre-selection, thereafter undergoing a
shore- and ship-based training in our office for a period of up
to 3 - 4 months before they have to undergo and pass our in-house
training conducted by a crew-trainer before they actually go on
board.
We have promoted officers to become masters. At
present 2 ships are under
the command of a Filipino master to the satisfaction of the prIncipals. All
the
ships have Filipino Chief Officers for many years and some Filipino masters
are already shore based for ISM/ISPS and supercargo services, which
are rendered by the company too.
We recognize the importance of our human resources
in maintaining quality
operations ashore and on board and have a proud record of keeping 97% of
permanent crew on the ships of our principals, which results to a tensionless
working climate and excellent maintenance condition of all trusted
equipment.
HeavyLift Manila Inc. insists that crew members
have relevant and up-to-date
qualifications and experience for appropriate positions and that potential
crew members are capable of interpreting and understanding key instructions.
To achieve this, HeavyLift Manila Inc. provides training whenever needed for
all crew members. HeavyLift Manila Inc. has developed a training policy within
the company and is investing considerable amounts of money annually for
training of personnel on board and ashore.
Training in the Philippines is carried out
in-house and extended to onboard
training on-the-job. In addition, seminars are regularly held in areas from
which
the crew members originate as well as utilizing every available source.
Great care is taken in the professional upgrading
of personnel and particular
emphasis is placed on quality and safety aspects.
